While the Los Angeles had already secured a playoff berth earlier on game day, the Seattle team booked their return to the play-offs after a 24-month absence.

With this outcome, the Seattle now lead their division's race with a twelve and three mark, supplanting the Rams, who fell to the number five playoff position with an eleven and four record.

Quarterback Sam Darnold threw two picks but regrouped to deliver two touchdown passes, culminating in the tying TD to wideout Smith-Njigba in the extra period.

The Rams held a 13-7 lead at half-time before Kenneth Walker III broke free for a long scoring dash for the home side.

Rams defensive back Josh Wallace then returned Darnold's first pick for 56 yards, setting up a one-yard score by Blake Corum on the next play.

In the final stanza, a scoring pass from Stafford to Puka Nacua extended the advantage to sixteen points, but Shaheed provided Seattle's hope with a spectacular punt return.

Darnold then found AJ Barner in the end zone, and a converted conversion forced the game into an extra period.

Although Nacua scored for his second TD in overtime, Jaxon Smith-Njigba responded in kind to setup the game-winning conversion.
