Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities stated they were contacted by a resident who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a release.

Police say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement state early analysis show the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.

A high-ranking official commented the vandalism made him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This event affects the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a assailant focusing on individuals of migrant background in 2020.
